Monday Motivation August 12th
For just a minute, forget everything.
Forget everything you’ve got going on. Don’t think about any problems. Don’t think about anything you have to do. Don’t think about anything that’s going wrong.
It’s a brand new week. It’s a brand new day. Anything can happen next.
And that anything, is going to be something good. Let’s start from a place of positivity this week.
This week very well could be the best week of your life. Anything could happen this week that could level up everything for you.
The more you believe is possible, the more you can actually achieve. It is absolutely incredible what some humans can achieve, and you are no different than them. With focus and the right mindset you can do extraordinary things.
One individual that blows my mind every time I think about it is The Iron Cowboy, James Lawrence. This is a man who did Iron Man’s for fun. If you aren’t familiar with an iron man triathlon, it is a marathon length run (26.2 miles), a 2.4 mile swim, and a 112 mile bike ride, back to black to back.
James first decided to do 50 Iron Man’s in 50 days. So he did that entire race once a day, every day for 50 days STRAIGHT.
Then he decided he wanted to do that again, except this time he 50 in 50 days, in all 50 states. So he traveled state to state each day, doing all 50 triathlons in all 50 states.
Then, as if that wasn’t enough, he decided to do 100 in 100 days. And he successfully did so.
While I can’t imagine the soreness of playing basketball two days in a row, he powered through the soreness of doing a triathlon day after day for 100 straight days.
Now there’s two ways can you look at that story. And depending on what you’re initial reaction was, it gives a hint as to where your mindset is.
The First way is, you could say that he is genetically gifted, or start naming all of the privileges he has going for hi. You could basically deny the possibility of others doing the same thing, claiming he’s a one in a trillion chance.
Or, secondly you could see the human potential. You can be inspired that the human body could achieve such a thing. And realize if the can do that, then our growth potential is so much higher than we previously thought.
When you a growth mindset, you can get better at anything.
So let’s start this week off a little more focused than last week, and crush every obstacle in our path!
